Okay, I was going to write about what President Noynoy and the Mayor of Cagayan de Oro city have in common: being in the wrong place, doing the wrong things while hundreds of people die. Noynoy was partying while Mayor Emano was playing mahjong (And I bet you anything that he was playing against my lola, but that’s another story)

Anyway. Rather than talk about the incompetence of our government leaders, I have heard of the news bustling Cagayan de Oro city. And besides, we shouldn’t judge authorities who neglect their duty to the public in times of need. It’s wrong. *rolls eyes*

These past few days, there were news like a big shortage of child coffins, funeral parlors being so full to the point that they had to line up hundreds of bodies in the streets and waiting to be identified. But a recent issue got the citizens of CDO trying to impeach the Mayor.

Nakakahiya na nakakainis talaga ang nalaman ko bago lang about sa commotion sa Cagayan de Oro. 

A news team discovered that at least 30 dead bodies were dumped in the landfill, ordered by the Mayor himself. Why? His reason: “baho na daw kaayo  ug namboto na uban” (He said the smell is intolerable and the bodies had decomposed).

Despite the state that the bodies are in, they do not deserve to be dumped in a landfill. They’re bodies of people, not trash. They deserve to be respected; they deserve to have a proper burial. 

I pity those families who will have to claim their loved ones in a landfill. This is really inhumane.
